Dual Enrollment

Imagine Prep’s commitment to preparing students for college, career, and life is demonstrated through our growing “dual enrollment” program. Dual enrollment offers Imagine Prep students the opportunity to experience the rigors of college level coursework while still in high school. And unlike AP courses, dual enrollment programs do not culminate in an all-or-nothing comprehensive exam. In other words, students who earn a C or better in the course earn BOTH high school and college course credit. The benefits of dual enrollment are numerous. First, dual enrollment allows students to transition from high school to college easily. Students can get a taste of what college is like without being overwhelmed. They can discover how their high school classes compare to college courses and how college professors differ from high school teachers. Dual enrollment also provides high school students with a wider range of courses so they have the opportunity to explore different fields before declaring a major, and to demonstrate a rigorous course load on their transcripts. Finally, one of the biggest benefits of dual enrollment is that it allows students to accumulate credits prior to entering college so they will be able to graduate from college early or on time.

Our dual enrollment program is growing and will soon include course options in English, math, social studies, and science.

Applications for dual enrollment courses can be obtained from the counseling office. In addition to completing the application, students are responsible for the college credit fee. Please contact the counseling office for current fees.

Dual enrollment instructors are highly qualified and authorized to award college credit. Instructors are monitored by the dual enrollment coordinator from Rio Salado Community College.
